Three Aspire Academy student-athletes claimed international padel titles for Qatar at the FIP Promises Karachi II event in Pakistan.
Nawaf Alyafei, who is set to join grade 8 for the next academic year, teamed up with Rida Agha, who joins the Academy this September, to seal the under-14 title.
The top seeds beat local duo Muhammad Bin Harris and Rayyan Faizan, the second seeds in the final.
Essa Al-Kuwari, who is joining grade 11, played alongside his compatriot Hamed Hassan to win gold in the under-16 category.
Their run to the title included a quarter-final win over Nawaf Alyafei and Rida Agha, who took the chance to gain valuable competitive experience by stepping up an age group.
Essa Alkuwari and Ahmed Hassan also competed in a second category, playing in the under-18s, but lost in the quarter-finals.
Aspire Academy’s first padel graduate, Abdulrahman Alyafei, who graduated in June, and his playing partner, Mohamed Nasser, reached the semi-finals, where they lost to eventual runners-up Samer Zaman and Mahd Abdullah from Pakistan.
The Promises Tour is the International Padel Federation’s (FIP) tournament series for various age groups from under-12 to under-18, designed to develop young players through high-level international competition.
The padel players now return to Doha as they prepare for the start of the new academic year and regular training at Aspire Academy.
Grade 12 student-athlete Hassan Waly will be joining the Qatar Padel Federation’s training programme as he prepares with the national team for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, where the sport will be making its debut.
