Six Aspire Academy student-athletes are returning from the Third Arab Age Group Aquatics Championships in Cairo, Egypt.
Hamza Shalan and Aziz Jelany Ismail both won six medals in the 15-16 age group, while Adem Morsi won Qatar’s only gold medal at the championships.
Aspire’s other medal winners were Ziad Morsy (15-16), Abdala Elghamry and Ahmed Diab (both 17-18), who all won three in relay events.
Overall at the event, Qatar claimed 23 medals with Aspire Academy student-athletes winning seven individual medals and helping to win a further six in relay events.
Eight Aspire Academy swimmers participated in the event, five of whom moved up age groups and took on older competitors, gaining valuable experience at an international swim meet.
