Director Al-Hay represents Aspire Academy at (SPIEF)

St. Petersburg, 8 June 2021.  Aspire Academy Director of Education and Student Affairs, Badr Al-Hay was in the Russian city of St Petersburg with the Qatar delegation to attend the 24th edition of St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), that run from 2 to 5 June 2021. SPIEF is one of the largest investment and economy-focused event of its kind in the world.

Director, Badr Al-Hay represented Aspire Academy as part of the Aspire Zone Foundation team, and  held discussions with Russian counterparts in the field of youth sport development. Speaking from St Petersburg during the forum, Mr Badr Al-Hay said, “Our participation in St Petersburg is meant to exchange expertise with our Russian hosts in all aspects of life and more specifically in the economic side as this is an economic Forum. We discussed how to set up business between our entity, Qatar University and equivalent Russian business units with a view for mutual benefit for both our countries. As Aspire Academy team we discussed and explored with sport entities like Zenit St Petersburg football club,  youth sport development and how we can grow the partnership. 

On Saturday 5th June 2021, Director, Badr Al-Hay took part along with colleagues from Qatar University in a panel discussion with some youth academies, schools and universities from Russian as they looked at youth development for the future.

SPIEF is organised by Roscongress Foundation and convenes individuals from leading Russian and international companies, political figures, and business leaders from around the world. The State of Qatar’s honorary position at the Forum as a guest country demonstrates the dedication and commitment of both countries to further cement their existing economic, cultural and tourism relations. Aspire Academy as part of AZF team is involved in the proceedings to discuss improving the partnership strategy and implementation of possible and promising business projects and initiatives.
