Aspire Academy student athletes to take part in World U20 Championships

Three Aspire Academy student athletes Nayef Mubarak Al Rashidi, Omar Daoud and Mahamed AbdulRahman will be representing the country at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Santiago de Cali (Colombia). 

The competition starts from 1-6 August.

Al Rashidi and Daoud will be competing in the 110m Hurdles while AbdulRahman will vie for honours in the 400m event. 

The trio are currently attending a training camp in Spain, and expected to travel to Colombia within next couple of days. 

Al Rashidi’s performance at the 8th Arab Youth Championships in Tunisia last November was hugely praised following his gold medal triumph at the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.22 seconds. 

He also won a silver medal at the 2nd West Asian Youth Championship in Lebanon.

Daoud also had a great performance at the event in Lebanon, where he won a gold 110m hurdles while AbdulRahman won the bronze in 400m.
