ASPIRE ACADEMY KICKS-OFF PRE-ACADEMY ATHLETICS TRIALS FOR CLUBS

11 Oct 2021

Aspire Academy kicked off early last week athletics trials for its pre-academy program for young athletes. The program, which is spread over nearly 7 months of trials, is specially designed for the clubs who select and send the best athletes to Aspire Academy, where they are coached and closely monitored by the academy coaches.  Only Grade 6 students born in 2010 are entitled to join the seventh-month program, which is conducted to identify future athletes.

The program is a part of Aspire Academy’s recruitment drive for athletics, and only the successful ones from the trials are invited to attend training sessions at the iconic Aspire Academy.

“This is the first of several trials this season. We plan to have three to four trials until February. The purpose of these trials is to identify the talented boys whom we would like to invite to our pre-academy athletics team,” said Richard Tremere, Head of Development Program at Aspire Academy.

“The athletes are nominated by their respective clubs to attend the trials. We’ve 27 boys from nine clubs.”
During the training session, the athlete’s progress is monitored, and the performance becomes the key to full-time enrolment at the world’s leading sports academy.

“The selected boys train twice a week at the Aspire Academy. After completing their session, we look into their progress and development towards the season end to find out if they can be retained as full-time student at the academy,” added Tremere.
True to its motto, Aspire Academy has always worked hard to attract and groom the best talents in sports by collaborating with the local clubs and schools in the country.
