ASPIRE Academy Student-Athlete Code of Conduct

Effective learning in the classroom or on the sports pitch, track or court requires an atmosphere that is based on respect, responsibility, and cooperation between all members of the ASPIRE Academy community – student-athletes, teachers, coaches and the entire staff. The Code of Conduct is an educational tool that defines behavioral expectations that maximize the possibility of the student-athlete’s success. The Code of Conduct is also a reference document, used to inspire student-athletes to achieve the highest levels of positive behavior and leadership, to self-examine and self-correct their own patterns of behavior and, in general, to learn to accept responsibility for their words and actions.

Behavior-Guiding Objectives.

The Student-Athlete Code of Conduct aims to achieve the following general objectives:

  • To establish standards and solid bases when dealing with the behavior of student-athletes in the academic and sports community.
  • To foster the relationships between the teacher, the student-athlete, the coach and the students’ care officers, and to develop them on an educational basis.
  • To achieve the greatest possible degree of adaptability and stability of the student-athletes in the academic community, through establishing the procedures for enhancing positive behavior and adjusting negative behavior.
  • To emphasize the concept of teamwork in the Education and Students’ Care Department at the Academy.
  • To gain the confidence of parents/guardians and their cooperation through the fairness of procedures and the standardization of rules, practices and methods.
The Code emphasizes the following student-athlete positive (desirable) behavior objectives:
  • To develop a feeling of patriotism in the student-athletes so as to enhance their belonging to the Academy.
  • To boost the student-athletes’ positive behavior so as to enhance it and ensure its replication and dissemination.
  • To gear the student-athletes' ambitions and motivation towards attaining excellence in education and sport.
  • To develop positive attitudes and instill Islamic values in the student-athletes.
  • To kindle the spirit of cooperation between the student-athletes and develop their attitudes towards teamwork.
  • To kindle the spirit of participation in the development of the community at the local and national levels.
  • To highlight the social and humanitarian roles as good role models for the student-athletes.
With regard to negative (unwanted) behavior, the Code seeks to:
  • raise the awareness of the student-athletes, who have negative behavior, of the concept of self-discipline and its traits.
  • promote types of acceptable behavior in these student-athletes with the Academy and to minimize the reasons for their negative behavior.
  • show the social disadvantages of the negative behavior in order to warn the other student-athletes of imitating them.
  • foster the spirit of self-criticism in the student-athletes.
  • develop the student-athletes’ knowledge with regard to the dangers of some practices, such as smoking and drugs.
