Academic Support and Encouragement
At ASPIRE, we believe there should be many facets to the academic support program, beginning with a belief in the ability of every student to succeed and the importance of positive encouragement. ASPIRE students are tested for academic placement in a variety of subjects. Students whose previous school records cause academic concern may be tested for learning difficulties, or placed in an academic support program designed to address learning difficulties and enhance learning strategies. Student-athletes should expect to do homework every evening. Parents are encouraged to ensure that all homework assignments be completed before their son is allowed to watch television, play video games or go outside to play or socialize. The development of a regular schedule that ensures the accomplishment of the most important tasks is critical to achieving success.
Student-athletes demonstrating high academic achievement, with overall numerical grade averages in curricular subjects of 85 or higher, are recognized within the Academy, where their names are displayed on an Academic Honors board. These student-athletes are also recognized at the end of each semester with an Honors Certificate signed by the Director General, Director-Education and School Principal.
