Overview

The academic year 2016/17 was the first season during which fencing formed a core sport at the Academy. Since then, a Qatar National Fencing Programme was established together with the Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF).

Aspire Academy’s focus is to deliver a programme which will allow it to become one of the world’s leading centres for the development of young fencers. Aspire Academy wants to enable its athletes to compete against their counterparts from big fencing nations in Europe, America and Asia. As part of the Qatar National Fencing Programme, the Academy’s objectives are to develop competent fencers capable of competing for medals in Asian and World tournaments at U17 and U20 categories and enable to give the exposure and experience needed to help them qualify for the QFF Senior Team upon graduation.

During their time at Aspire, student fencers participate in local competitions, international training camps, National Team competitions, GCC Championships, West Asian Championships, Arab Championships, Asian Championships, World Championships and International Circuit Competitions.

Graduates also have the chance to be selected for the Aspire Academy Scholarship Programme, which is designed to support athletes on the path to international success.
